Mike Kauth presided over the meeting. Talked about last year's meeting in Coeur d'Alene, ID. Brought up Steve Cosgrove's, Ian Samson's and Dave Girard's accidents, and also Duane Dillard's surgery. Everyone wished to send them our best regards and a wishes for a speedy recovery so they can resume riding. Regarding next year's meeting -- Stu Fierman talked about NY for the 1999 meeting. Ian Samson said he would organize the 1999 meeting, Stu Fierman would co-host. For the 2000 rally Richard Vaughn said he would organize it for Nashville, IN. Stu talked about being chartered by the AMA. He is currently in the process of getting that done. Lee Prate stated that we are currently incorporated in WV in case the AMA asked. A vote was passed to join the AMA. Elections were held, with the results:
Len Cohen suggests we donate to a local charity where the meeting is held as a good will token. There was talk of promoting M.D.A. through health care organizations and motorcycle magazines. Also, sending out the agenda of next year's meeting in a newsletter and getting speakers were discussed. James Kuekan's letter wanting membership free for retired members was brought up. The motion was voted down on grounds of the number of members and the minimal dues that are required. Voted on MDA buckles - passed. Embroidered patches - want buckles first. Also check out name plates with logo. |
